Dr. Amy Gates
Dr. Amy Gates received a BS in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut in 2005. She then pursued a Masters degree in vaccine research prior to completing her VMD at the University of Pennsylvania in 2012.
While Dr. Gates has a budding interest in surgery, she enjoys busy appointment days and the challenges of critical cases. She appreciates the continuity that a 24-hour facility can provide and strives each day to help pets with serious medical problems regain their quality of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Gates is married and lives with her two cats, Captain Ahab, who is three-legged and true to his namesake, and Trails, a quiet, gentle soul. The entire family is kept active by their young Boston Terrier mix, Zoey. In her down-time she enjoys, running, gardening, and spending time with her family.
